B52's offense fizzles

 

SANTA CLARA, 8/3/08: After losing two close games to start the Championship Series, the B52s had hopes of bouncing back in the series, especially now that they had home field for the next three games. Cavsuimiak scored two in the top of the 1st on a Kuzmiak home run and never surrendered the lead for the rest of the game. The B52 rallied for 3 runs in the 2nd, but their offense went stagnant for the remainder of the game. Cavsuimiak cruised to a 17-9 victory and look to sweep next Sunday.

After the game Davis refused to shake had with the opposition and decided to pack up his things and head home despite his teammates urging him not to act like a poor sport. Davis, this website's head recap writer, has decided to sit out the remainder of the season; hence the lack of detail in this recap.

Kuzmiak and Matsui filled the stat sheets for Cavsuimiak and BAD ASS of the Day. Kuz hit 4 home runs and had 8 RBI. Matsui 6 for 7, with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Manning's solid play at short earned him Gold Glove. Small Penis was awarded to Davis for his antics mentioned above and to Ed DaRosa who broke his pinkie toe and may miss the remainder of the season as well.

Today's exhibition game was a rematch of April 13th game pitting the league's youngest players versus the oldest. In April's contest, the 30 and up club won 18-17 despite the 20 year olds scoring 9 in the last frame. This time however, the youngsters ran their elders right off the field winning 20-5.

AWARDS AND HIGHLIGHTS

The Young Gunz named their entire team BAD ASS of the Day as well as Gold Glove. Skillz earned another Small Penis for leaving. Manning look as Small Penis too when he played leftfield late in the game and looked out of place, misplaying a few balls hit his way.

Yanez 6 for 8 with 4 RBI. Matsui 6 for 8 with 5 RBI. Gonzalez was 5 for 8 with 5 RBI. But most impressively, Wagner was 6 for 7 and hit for the cycle. His exhibition performance was stunning considering his struggles in his recent series games. -YOW
